When is the event?

  • Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 10am-2pm

When should I show up?

  • You should arrive between 8am & 9am on Saturday, April 4th to set up your table and be ready by 9:30am

Where is the event?

  • Indian River State College
    Richardson Center and Brackett Library

Where do I go at the college?

  • Use main entrance, west of 58th Avenue. Use the light behind Home Depot that leads past Indian River Charter High School. Take the 1st right turn once you enter the college campus. 

  • Once you have your car unloaded, please park towards the back of that parking lot   

How do I sign up?

  • Registration is available for nonprofits, schools, preschools, and government agencies on KRC's website until March 20, 2020. 

  • A fee of $25 is required to reserve your table. 

Will tables be provided?

  • Yes, we will have 1 table (6 ft) for you and 1 chair, unless a previous arrangement has been made

How many people do you expect to attend?

  • We anticipate 2,000 people to attend during the 4 hour window

What ages is the event geared towards?

  • We will have family friendly activities geared towards ages 1-5. 

What should I bring to register my child for kindergarten?

  • Birth certificate

  • Social Security Card (if they have one)

  • Proof of address (utility or service bill)

What should I bring to register my child for a VPK Certificate of Eligibility?

  • Birth certificate

  • Social Security Card (if they have one)

  • Proof of address (utility or service bill)

What can we do at the event?

  • Enroll your child for Kindergarten with the School District of Indian River County

  • Complete the VPK Certificate of Eligibility application

  • Apply for STEP into Kindergarten, VPK, or Summer VPK with the School District of Indian River County

  • Learn about and enroll in your child in local VPK programs and preschools

  • Learn about the Kindergarten Digital Readiness tools available from SDIRC

  • Learn about local programs, services, & resources

  • Engage in fun learning activities 

  • Learn more about the stages of child development and ways to help build your child's brain

Does volunteering for this event count for my school volunteer hours? 

  • Yes, KRC is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization, so volunteering for this event should count towards your volunteer  requirement.
