When is the event?

  • Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 from 10am-2pm

When should I show up?

  • You should arrive between 8am & 9am on Saturday, February 23rd to set up your table and be ready by 9:30am

Where do I go at the mall?

  • Use entrance 1, the main entrance, near Talbots

  • Once you have your car unloaded, please park towards the back of that parking lot   

How do I sign up?

  • Registration will be available for nonprofits, schools, preschools, and government agencies on KRC's website until January 31st. 

  • Private or for-profit businesses must contact KRC's Community Engagement Manager, Shannon Maitland, to register: or 772-617-4350.

Will tables be provided?

  • Yes, we will have 1 table (6 ft) for you and 2 chairs, unless a previous arrangement has been made

How many people do you expect to attend?

  • We anticipate 2,000 people to attend during the 4 hour window




Where is the event taking place? 

  • Park near the Main Entrance (near Talbots) and you will find our Welcome Table inside. 

  • We will have tables set up in the corridors surrounding the food court. Additionally, several stores will be used during the event for kindergarten and VPK Certificate registrations.

What ages is the event geared towards?

  • We will have family friendly activities geared towards ages 2-5. 

What should I bring to register my child for kindergarten?

  • Birth certificate

  • Social Security Card (if they have one)

  • Proof of address (utility or service bill)

What should I bring to register my child for a VPK Certificate of Eligibility?

  • Birth certificate

  • Social Security Card (if they have one)

  • Proof of address (utility or service bill)

What is the Kid’s Corral?

  • This is a supervised play area for children who are potty trained through age 13.

  • Your child can engage in age appropriate activities while you complete registration paperwork.

What can we do at the event?

  • Enroll your child for Kindergarten with the School District of Indian River County

  • Complete the VPK Certificate of Eligibility application

  • Apply for STEP into Kindergarten, VPK, or Summer VPK

  • Learn about the Kindergarten Digital Readiness tools available from SDIRC

  • Get free dental screenings

  • Get free vision screenings

  • Get a “learning check-up”

  • Get your immunization records printed (be sure to bring your shot records so we can check that they are up to date in the FL Shots system)

  • Learn about local programs & services

  • Enjoy student performances

My student is doing a performance, where do we go?

  • The stage will be set up near the Food Court.  Please use the Main Entrance of the mall (Entrance 1).

How do I sign up to volunteer? 

Are middle school and high school volunteers welcome?

Does volunteer for this event count for my school volunteer hours? 

  • Yes, KRC is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization, so volunteering for this event should count towards your volunteer  requirement.
